Hungry to Play Again!

Thank you all for your prayers, concerns and encouragement.  Friends and followers from Alaska to Florida and Carolinas to the State of Washington were praying for the healing of my hand!!!  A huge number of people praying, writing, calling, texting, etc.

Things have been challenging for Voices of Peace this year.  From Bud’s quadruple bypass surgery in August, after Gospel Fest, to cutting all his tendons in his right hand in March.   Because of these health incidents we had to cancel or turn down over 20 events. 

On March 9, Bud injured his right hand on the wood splitter. He severed all the tendons on the top part of his right hand except one and that one was hanging on by a thread.  On Thursday, March 12 he had surgery to have the tendons reconnected. The doctor is very optimistic all will go well.  He has now completed 12 weeks of therapy.

A Deep Appreciation to Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Specialist (O. S. M. S.) in Green Bay Wisconsin for helping me play my guitar again, Doctor Zellner for reattaching tendons to my fingers, and Peg Hau, Orthopedic Therapist, for her amazing amount of knowledge and understanding helping me overcome numerous obstacles during my healing journey.

Have you ever been so hungry that you can hardly wait for the meal to be served?  That’s a little like the hunger I’ve felt for playing music again. I just can’t wait! And I’m starting to have hope that I’ll soon be feasting.

This spring has been a trying time…not physically capable of playing. How frustrating to watch fingers that haven’t been cooperating. But our Lord has heard your prayers (and mine), for returning to music. My fingers are bending and moving better with each day. Thank God for His kindness and healing.

Time for playing music is more precious/thrilling than ever! Praise God, Voices of Peace is almost back. With another few weeks of work on the music craft, we should be ready for the “front line” again. As always, we are dependent on the Lord Jesus for all we do.
